When I read the following quote, I couldn’t helped but be moved by the reality of what E. Stanley Jones wrote. Good medicine for today 🙂
E. Stanley Jones, missionary and writer in India, nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize several times and awarded the Gandhi Peace Prize in 1961, wrote,
“When I go to India, I have to apologize for many things: for Western civilization, for it is only partly Christianized; for the Christian Church, often it too is only partly Christianized; for myself, for I am only a Christian-in-the making. But when it comes to Jesus, there are no apologies on my lips, for there are none in my heart. He is our one perfect possession”
– quoted by Michael Battle in Possessed by the Thing
Jesus has never claimed himself to be god.
Instead , He claimed to be POWERLESS.
John 5 : 30
“I can of mine own self do nothing:”
Hasri – thanks for dropping by. One of the amazing things for me is that Jesus’ words and actions showing “vulnerability”. It’s mind blowing especially when we want to think deeply about the mystery of the divine, the beyond human thinking ways of appreciating revelation, and how all this confronts our limited and finite ability to grasp all of this at one go.
