Trying out this new Polaroid Picture plug-in for my Windows Live Writer is fun.
A few days ago a friend of mine had two words on her mind she really wanted to say to a particular Government ministry. I know every well just like me, it’s hard to utter such strong and yet sharp words which will wake up some of our friends or foes to sit up and listen. I promised her, in solidarity with what she felt (which I felt the same), I would at least mention it here.
Oh yes . what are the two words? I’ve leave it to your imagination. It’s more fun that way. Starts with “F”.
Read a quote I recorded down from a journal entry on March 10, 2007.
“The wilderness constantly reminds me that wholeness is not about perfection” – Parker Palmer
Such wisdom.
Came across another insight to balance or even correct the inaccurate notion of “Creation out of Nothing” (Creatio Ex Nihilo) a lot of Christians might hold which can be limiting in one’s understanding of the work of creation.
Some years ago, I was introduced to the idea of “Continuous Creation” which highlighted God has not stopped creating, and is still in his creative process. This morning another phrase popped out so clearly from the book I was holding while munching my toast bread with cheese, “Creation out from the ‘deep'” (Creatio Ex Profundi). I went “wow!” (fireworks spring out behind my head. . .)
This profound creating work emerges out of the deep chaos we often experience. While total chaos is unhelpful, and even damaging. The reality of chaos is always present, and we can’t ignore it. We can never fully escape it. What then shall we do? How then can we relook at it’s contribution to the kind of order we are seeking?
Creatio Ex Profundi
By the way, this is supposed to be a random thoughts post. Let’s random away .
When I look at a raintree now, I pause for a moment. It’s never the same. I’m offended when people insult raintrees now, and especially when there’s some good that happens under its shade.
Time really waits for no man or woman.
It’s funny who am I really pastoring these days?
The only three is enough group that I have started with some success is with 7 year old Gareth and going to be 4 years old Elysia. We meet a couple of times a week when I’m not out at night. it’s been good. We’d have Ewan and May Chin thrown in but then it’s sleeping time for our 1 year old.
But then, in a world of fast food, a slow meal at home is a very sacred moment.
At lunch the other day, I felt I heard a small voice prompting another three is enough group emerging. Now, this time it’s for people who are taller than my kids.
Seeing God redeeming people and their life circumstances in the midst of chaos is so awesome. But going through the process does take it’s toil on us. And yet, one cannot trade the future possibilities for anything less.
Hmmm . three slices of toast bread with cheese and coffee is very filling.
Off to a cup of hot water.
two things jumped out for me:

And a single life in a face paced world leading to overcrowding of the soul becomes my concern at this moment.
