Thanks for sharing this! Jacobs had a lot of interesting things to say that we can learn from. The thing about picking and choosing is one thing in particular that was true. Sometimes, there are parts in the OT especially that needs to be understood in that particular era or context. His idea of embodying the things he is writing about is challenging as well. Imagine if we take this step literally in following Jesus. That would lead to a really radical life.
