I think it is as it threatens to be the next tsunami of the rakyat against the rulling party, more dramatic than any Kris waving minister can do. In the Sermon on the Mount, the Lord said blessed are those who hunger and thrist for righteousness for they will be filled... blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. Our civil duties as christians are to feed the hungry, clothe the needy and visit the sick and those in prison. But perhaps the ones who most need to be cured are the murderers/sinners for they are totally lacking in the earthly and divine blessings of the beatitudes. That was why Jesus mingled with them on a personal basis. Sivin – I am sure these tragedies have some divine purpose. The days ahead indeed are hard but so will the speed with which the harvest of salvations among Msians will accelerate. No one can trust any government official now. Even the highest office of PM or the President of America is giving out signals that injustice will be condoned as long as you toe the right political party/line. Read Obama's Cairo speech. Beng Hock does not deserve to die in this manner. If GOD can open up the Red Sea to save His people , why can't He do something to save us from this terrible event. A young man has paid with his life for no reason at all. This sad and tragic event has left me thinking is there really a GOD or is it just a figment of our imagination. Don't talk about karma as this is also another excuse for us not to admit to the reality of life in this world. The death of Mr. Teoh Beng Hock has truly made me sit up to think as to what this world is coming to. He can be anyone we love, a close friend, a son , a brother or even a father.
