My Return to the Catholic Church

I read now former Evangelical Theological society’s president Dr. Frank Beckwith’s personal post on this matter with interest. I confess I was not too happy with a number of comments with lacked generosity. I must admit I do not understand why there are some who have such strong reactions to this matter.

IT conversations: Dr. Amartya Sen

I saw his latest book and was drawn to it yesterday … but I thought I’ll listen to this interview first.

What Clash of Civilizations?

An article by Dr. Amartya Sen based on the book.

Evangelicals, Numbers and Success

“… A wise friend of mine recently warned of the danger of becoming a “successful failure,” an individual whose talents and drives led to a range of conspicuous accomplishments while one’s spiritual and psychological deficiencies led to eventual collapse of character and destruction of reputation.”

A wise friend indeed.

My Little Church

It’s nice to see a “church-blessing” (instead of church-bashing) for a change.

Whose life is it anyway?

Great quote from Steve Jobs:

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma—which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

and I like the closing quote:

“We’re here to put a dent in the universe. Otherwise why else even be here?”

Faith Stepping Stones: short teaching videos

Looks good .. will watch them later.

Can’t Hurry Love or Growth

‘What comes to mind when you read the word “automatic”?’ Good question to start!

Collin- changgih-nya! When I skimmed through the comments, it’s an educational experience not just in information but more so in attitudes and postures on how we respond to other people’s decisions.

peiling - Dr. Sen gives a pointed critique on Dr. Huntington’s thesis and considers it dangerous (from what I’ve heard so far).
