I’m looking forward to watch all the films from 15Malaysia. My wife May Chin and I had a good laugh watching Potong Saga by Ho Yuhang. In the light of Yasmin Ahmad’s recent departure from us, Chocolate carries extra significance in a way.
Tonight at 8.30pm, a group of us will be gathered together for One Better Malaysia: Tribute to Teoh Beng Hock & Yasmin Ahmad. This is especially for those who do not want to be confined to political, racial and even religious categories. ALL are welcome. I repeat ALL are welcome 🙂
While the starting point is Teoh Beng Hock, it goes beyond him especially in the light of R. Gunasegaran, we hope more will see the larger context of what needs our attention and our voice.
It also goes beyond Yasmin Ahmad the person (whom I know many still continue to grief her loss), it’s about what she was dreaming of for Malaysia. And one key element in tonight’s event is to create some space in our hearts and our heads to cultivate the kind of imagination & ideals she had. She had a vision for a better Malaysia, how about us?
‘Chocolate’, anyone?
