Wow! History would have been made either way . but then again the way history is being made now is fascinating .
I watched this video only yesterday, I’m well aware of the complexity and controversies around politic, but it was interesting to hear Collin Powell’s thinking process again after the results.
And of course, now this music video gets some new meaning too! 🙂
I just finished a simple lunch . three pieces of bread – with cheese, mayo and marmite! Combined with what’s going on in the USA through this presidential election and also post March 8th Malaysia, there’s more than three pieces of bread and water for thought. One more music video . for Malaysian leaders to ponder . over lunch? (they can make the necessary adaptations on the message!)
ahhh..time to read up more about this guy then…have been savin’ it…but now I can (smile).
American made it.
They dare to make a difference for a better future.
They vote for talent, they vote according to how capable a person is…
Not skin colour, not religion.
Just read a news fr MalaysiaKini.
http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/92459
A guy was detained by police during Deepavali open house coz he is wearing the NO TO ISA t-shirt.
Police said, his shirt is threatening the VVIPs at the open house.
Police questioned him: asking if someone pay him to wear this? What motif he has?
What? A shirt is threatening the VVIPs???
Looking at our country.
When Rakyat say NO TO ISA, they pretend they don’t hear it.
When Rakyat walk up to street, they said “INI BUKAN BUDAYA KITA”.
When Rakyat say nothing, but only wearing a T-shirt, they said we are threatening them…
When we couldn’t do anything…
They’ll say:
THIS IS A PEACEFUL COUNTRY…
WE ARE A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY…
I hope Malaysians are learning something from US election.
And think how to make Malaysia a better country in our next election.
someone told me he is anti-Christian…. hope that someone is wrong…
zewt – that someone is wrong! There will be disagreements on how one’s Christian faith relates to politics and social issues. Time will tell, our eyes can be open … but I also wonder what kind of “Christian” people are referring to … if it means protecting our own turf and preoccupied with our own self-interest … then perhaps Jesus is “anti-that-kind-of-Christian”, I wonder?
alwyn – I think you’d be interesting in Obama’s speeches and how he reframes (cf. deconstructs and reconstructs) issues and priorities.
sanjuin – indeed we have a lot to learn as we observe how others work out what democracy means for them. In this case, seen in this USA presidential elections. In Malaysia, we haven’t even started to engaging in proper civil conversations yet.
