I think we had a pretty good meeting to prepare for an exciting "consultation-in-waiting". More information coming when the time is right. For now, take your guess from the clues on the whiteboard.:-)
Here’s a sneak preview of what’s coming soon I feel so honored to be part the process that gave birth to The Micah Mandate. The last one week, Gareth and Elysia has been consistent in sharing our Highs and Lows almost every day. And I must say being part of the initiators for this effort has been most rewarding and a definite HIGH. It has brought a sense of integration and wholeness together with Friends in Conversation and RoH Malaysia as well as my work as a local church pastor in Bangsar Lutheran Church and my wider involvement through the Lutheran Church in Malaysia and Singapore. I think that’s a pretty full plate, and I’m pretty much stretched to the limit, but it’s fulfilling! It’s fulfilling because I feel we are in a moment of Malaysian history where we are more conscious of the fact that all of us have a role to play in making history.
I’m probably coming back from a beach like this when this post gets published Many thanks to Sherman Kuek for getting this organized with the help of friends.
I missed a segment on Leron talking about money. But here’s two clips related to fame. So we had quite a journey from Food to Fame during the intense day sessions. I’m glad to read Leron is safe back at Norway. I’d be looking forward to read his reflections soon.
After meeting Leron and listening to him I found reading The Delightful Terror of Reforming Theology with more interest and understanding. Maybe it’s because now I can imagine his voice when I read the words.
The matrix for theological inquiry was a special bonus because I found some of my own musings resonating with his framework. Plus, the Trinitarian accent throughout our personal conversations and underlying his talks and content was much needed, espeiclaly for someone like me who tends towards a Christ-centered approach and articulation. While I believe this is necessary in our context and is part of my own journey, it was good to let the Trinity take center stage.
It was quite refreshing to listen to a theologian start talking from the topic of Food … and of course, it’s never just about what we consume physically, but more of how in our relating with food, and relating with others during the consumption of food theological insights which are relevant for transformation
Here’s a little clip to give you a taste of last Friday’s morning session.
Leron Shults has arrived safely, and we’ve had a pretty good intro to Kuala Lumpur I think He looks happy, and we’re happy to have someone who’s so open and willing to interact with us for the Day seminar 9.30am -4.30pm as well as Evening meeting at 8pm, Friday, January 18, 2008 at Bangsar Lutheran Church.
I’m especially interested when I heard how he will link issues on our concerns-preoccupations-fears about SEX, MONEY, FOOD, and FAME to becoming human and becoming God’s people. That was a delightful twist to the content of the program.
I’m looking forward to welcome Leron with Yew Khuen tomorrow. And especially looking forward to the conversations we will have in private and also during the simple Conversation with F.Leron Shults event on Friday.
To those who haven’t decided to come you are still very much welcome
The Day Time Seminar-like-conversation event starts on Friday, 18 January 2008, 9.30am till 4.30pm.
Feel free to pass the word around to as many whom you feel would benefit from this event. I would love to see more church leaders, pastors and younger leaders come and join us.
To sign up, send me or Yew Khuen an email with the following information:
