I’m speechless .
a little but of fun on Sunday evening
Please don’t take this seriously, but then again some food for thought too.
Bangsar Lutheran Church(BLC) is getting ready for another round of renovations (this one will be a major one). I’m super encouraged by a solid renovation team who are putting their 100% into the project.
But more importantly, it’s also our 10th year. So, I thought it might be a good idea to go down memory lane and recapture some moments. Because BLC is always more than the place where we meet (which we call the Father’s House), it’s about the people!
I think this probably is the first video I took using my old Canon A70 Camera. We were still sitting and standing around tables that time. How time flies, this video is more than 6 years old.
I love this song. Timely for Easter.
Not many people know about the significance of Holy Saturday. For me it captures the “in between-ness” and “silence” between death and resurrection powerfully. For more read Great and Holy Saturday, the following caught my attention:
We sing that Christ is ". . . trampling down death by death" in the troparion of Easter. This phrase gives great meaning to Holy Saturday. Christ’s repose in the tomb is an "active" repose. He comes in search of His fallen friend, Adam, who represents all men. Not finding him on earth, He descends to the realm of death, known as Hades in the Old Testament. There He finds him and brings him life once again. This is the victory: the dead are given life. The tomb is no longer a forsaken, lifeless place. By His death Christ tramples down death.
Last night, I showed the video above as a response to the overall worship liturgy. Today, I’m allowing the truth and relevance of the love and the wounds of Christ to settle in deeper .as I await Easter.
One of pleasant discoveries this Holy Week is Stushie’s Art. Tonight, I hope to integrate some of the work from there with our Good Friday service at 8.30pm Luther Centre, 1st Floor, 6, Jalan Utara, PJ.
There will be elements of the Seven Last Words of Jesus, Meditation and silent reflection, hymns with no music accompaniment, Tenebrae elements and more and yet with less. simple worship but heartfelt.
This has been a very stripped down Holy Week for me.. emptied from a lot of stuff. But Good Friday has always been special. I’m in no hurry to Easter yet.
