49: Ash Wednesday

All I Can Say

I heard this song for the first time almost 10 years ago.  It helped me through a very painful and dark time. It’s probably my favorite David Crowder Band song back when they were part of the University Baptist Church band (if I’m not mistaken).

I thought I’ll dedicate this to anyone whom can relate to the lyrics as their prayer.

ALL I CAN SAY

Lord I’m tired
So tired from walking
And Lord I’m so alone
And Lord the dark
Is creeping in
Creeping up
To swallow me
I think I’ll stop
Rest here a while

And didn’t You see me cry’n?
And didn’t You hear me call Your name?
Wasn’t it You I gave my heart to?
I wish You’d remember
Where you sat it down

Chorus:
And this is all that I can say right now
i know it’s not much
And this is all that I can give
yeah that’s my everything

Bridge:
I didn’t notice You were standing here
I didn’t know that
That was You holding me
I didn’t notice You were cry’n too
I didn’t know that
That was You washing my feet

Worship songs aren’t for the blokes?

Yes, Matt.  You mentioned the exact line that I’ve not been too comfortable singing nowadays! :-) But like he said we’re all on a learning curve. (HT: Pomousings)

Hymns tonight anyone?

BLC’s 1st Alternative Worship Gathering at Luther Centre 2009

We’re still getting used to Luther Centre.  Of course, I must confess still missing the intimacy and warmth of the Father’s House in Bangsar.  However, I’m thankful for some plus points at Luther Centre, PJ where we have some outdoor options.

Again and again, it’s so important to remind faith communities like us that God is working amongst us the people and not limited or even enhanced purely by the place.  And yet, like it or not the place provides the strengths or weaknesses of the environment.  We are embodied beings and thus it’s good to be aware of such detail.

So, as we continue this learning curve.  We walk forward slowly.

Bapa Yang Kekal – Eternal Father (Reprise)

Since hearing the song “Bapa Yang Kekal” (Translation to English = Eternal Father) at the wedding I conducted for a good friend during a very trying time for the couple, this song has stuck with me since.  One thing I’ve returned to more and more every birthday celebration  especially after becoming a father myself, is the fresh appreciation of the love of God as Father!

01. BAPA YANG KEKAL – Franky Sihombing

Maria Shandi – Kupercaya JanjiMU

Another beautiful and moving song from Indonesia. A timely song for those who feel broken and in need of a little hope. A good one to start the week!

My Prezi Learning Curve

Here’s my first Prezi supported sermon.  It’s simple but I think I’ve used all the basics including a video at the end! :-)
